Environmental activities in administration
Environmental aspects were taken into account right from the start in planning all building conversions and installations of new equipment that CityLine initiated over the last few years.
Partnerships with suppliers created
Consistent environmental protection also needs to take a company’s external relationships into account.
For a number of years, CityLine’s General Purchasing department has been giving priority to suppliers operating environmental care systems. CityLine’s technical area has developed an environmental clause that is included in newly concluded contracts whenever possible.
In its efforts to avoid unnecessary packaging waste, CityLine also counts on an intensified cooperation with suppliers. To this end, the areas Administration and Maintenance in particular negotiate with their partners to introduce reusable and returnable packaging.
Lower paper consumption due to electronic archiving
The intensified use of electronic archiving systems meant that paper consumption since 2007 decreased by 5 tonnes and could be kept at this level. Beyond the standard software SAP, CityLine has created an electronic document management platform. It is used for archiving annual financial statements and invoices in financial accounting, technical documentation or flight operations documents, among others.
Following a management decision, the entire company uses recycled paper as a rule. White paper is only available for specific applications.
